Our Mission
Fostering Friends is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the emotional, social, and developmental well-being of children by creating supportive programs, enriching experiences, and community partnerships that promote connection, confidence, and growth in safe, nurturing environments.
Meet the Team
Kim Shvayka
Kim, President of Fostering Friends, provides visionary leadership and guidance to ensure the organization fulfills its mission. She oversees strategic planning, strengthens community partnerships, and supports the development of programs that create meaningful impact.
Ethann Wheeler
Ethann, Vice President of Fostering Friends, plays a key leadership role in advancing the organization’s mission. Supporting the President and working closely with the Board and team, he contributes to operational planning, ensures effective communication across the organization, and helps maintain a strong foundation for sustainable growth.
Asher Wheeler
Asher, Clerk of Fostering Friends, is responsible for maintaining accurate records and ensuring smooth communication within the organization. In this role, they oversee meeting documentation, manages official correspondence, and helps ensure compliance with organizational bylaws and reporting requirements.
Robert Falconero
Robert, Treasurer of Fostering Friends, is responsible for safeguarding the financial health and integrity of the organization. In this role, he oversees budgeting, financial reporting, and the management of funds to ensure transparency and accountability. He provides accurate financial insights to the Board and ensures compliance with all fiscal regulations and best practices.
Our Goal
Our goal is to host meaningful activities and sponsor children financially to allow them to participate in activities that support their growth and development. By providing hands-on experiences, creative learning opportunities, and financial support, we aim to help children build essential life skills such as confidence, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Through these programs, every child—regardless of background—can explore their potential, discover new interests, and gain the tools they need to thrive. Ultimately, we strive to create an environment where young people feel supported, inspired, and empowered to succeed.

Helping children connect with nature nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong sense of wonder. When kids explore the outdoors—whether through hiking, gardening, observing wildlife, or simply playing outside—they develop a deeper understanding of the world around them and their place in it. Nature experiences encourage creativity, build resilience, and foster a sense of responsibility for the environment.
